This week we welcome the team from the Middle States Association to St. Margaret School. The week started off with a Prayer Service and beautiful welcoming dinner including a tour by our student council members on Tuesday hosted by our Home and School Association. Throughout the week, members of the team visited all the class rooms and reviewed their lessons. The team also interviewed several teachers, parents, and students. They spent the week reviewing our school’s curriculum, handbooks, schedules, drills, facilities and made recommendations on our Plan for Growth and Improvement. We were very happy to have them visiting us this week! They were very impressed by our students and their many accomplishments.
A special thanks to our Middle States Coordinator Mrs. Bellwoar, the Middle States team Mrs. Lorine and Mrs. Schaffer, HSA Co-Presidents Beth Mirzai and Erica Santo and all the faculty and staff for all the preparation it took to make this week a success. Thank you to all our parent volunteers who took part in the interviewing process and for subbing in the classes while the teachers were interviewed.
Please invite friends, family and neighbors to join us for an Open House on Sunday, October 27th from 11AM-1PM. Help us spread the word to our community about our programs for students in Preschool (3 year old) through 8th grade. Our hallways are beautifully decorated with all the student’s hard work.
St Margaret has added two new resource centers to the school; a new Stream Lab and an Instructional Support Resource Center are now in place to enhance student learning and to support student understanding. The Stream Lab is open to all grades and includes various instruments and equipment to assist students in completing a variety of experiments including two Robotic arms and two Robots. Mrs. Maureen Lorine, IST coordinator, along with two Academic Support Teachers offer support and enrichment to students in the STREAM Lab. The success of all students at SMS is critical to our mission.
A Message from HSA:
Last week in the Thursday family envelope, every family received a letter regarding HSA DUES. These dues help fund classroom parties, teacher appreciation lunches, field day shirts and much more. This money also helps us continue to fund our community building events. If you misplaced your form, please check our website under parent info. Please send in your HSA dues as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone who has already sent their dues in.
Join us on Saturday, November 9th for Designer Bag Bingo. This fundraiser benefits our 8th grade class. Gather your friends and get a table together for fun and the chance to win prizes, bags, raffles and more! This event is BYO food and drink and is for adults only.

The Halloween Pumpkin Parade: A fun and festive way to celebrate Halloween and instill a love of literacy in our students!
The Halloween Pumpkin Parade is an optional family project that encourages families to read or reread, a story and decorate a pumpkin that looks like their favorite character. You can decorate the pumpkin using things like paint, feathers, leaves, beads, google eyes, and fabric. Please do not carve the pumpkins.
Please send your pumpkins in to school to be put on display. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Lorine at mlorine@smsnarberth.org.
