The Board of Limited Jurisdiction is a group of parents, parishioners, SMS graduates, educators, religious, and community members committed to supporting the mission of St. Margaret School of forming the whole child spiritually, academically, physically, and emotionally. The Board collaborates with the pastor and principal to ensure the school fulfills its mission and has decision making authority in the following areas:

  • Strategic Planning: The Board participates in realizing the archdiocesan and parish vision, actively driving the development of the Strategic Plan that guides our school’s growth.

  • Advancement and Development: The Board actively drives the development of a comprehensive school Advancement Plan, supporting fundraising efforts and alumni outreach.

  • Financial Oversight: The Board works tirelessly to secure the financial future of the school, creating long-term Financial Plans, assessing capital needs, and actively participating in the annual budgeting process.

  • Enrollment: The Board works to develop and coordinate the school’s enrollment, marketing, and communications plans. The Board seeks to increase both recruitment of new students and retention of current students.

  • Facilities: In collaboration with Msgr. Dougherty and the parish and school finance committees, we identify building and ground needs, develop the master capital plan for the school’s buildings and grounds, and monitor implementation of the plan.
