Our students have done so much this month! Read on to hear about all their wonderful achievements.

Congratulations to our Reading Olympics Olympians!

On Monday, May 12, thirty-three 4th-8th grade students competed against local Catholic schools in a reading competition. They have worked throughout this school year reading from a list of books to answer questions in a “Jeopardy” style format. We are proud to walk away with 1 blue ribbon and 3 red ribbons. These are the two highest awards given out. Congratulations to our readers!

Congratulations to the SMS Boys and Girls Track & Field Teams! We’re proud to announce that both teams have won the Region Championships, marking the first-ever region title in SMS history — a monumental achievement out of 16 competing teams!

The Boys Team delivered a dominant performance, scoring over 230 points and capturing individual titles in five events.

The Girls Team also shined, earning three individual event victories and taking gold in two relays.

Next up, they’ll compete at the Area Championships this Saturday, May 17, at Cardinal O’Hara, with their sights set on qualifying for the Archdiocesan City Championships at Franklin Field later this month.
Let’s cheer them on as they continue this historic season! 🏅💪

SMS student Daniel Winward (Grade 8) came in 3rd place in the 10th Annual national short story contest for young writers sponsored by Jack London State Historic Park. Fifty applicants from around the country and the world participated! Congratulations Daniel on this achievement!
