Thank you to everyone who attended Bluefest, donated auction items, sponsored the event, bid on auction items and volunteered to help in any capacity. Everyone enjoyed the SMS Disco. Our gym was completely transformed by the Bluefest decorating committee, spearheaded by Alleya Polk. We appreciate all the hard work of our decorating committee members: Veronica Angulo Diaz, Daniella Miele, Tava Odom and Angela Tighe. Our auction would not have been possible without the work of our Solicitation Committee members: Cara Horchos, Sara Olender, Keesha Pinnock Harvey, Marie Schult and Maura Strohsacker. We had many volunteers help with setup on Thursday and Friday and cleanup on Sunday. We truly could not have had this event without all your help and we thank you!

Summer Uniforms began on Monday, April 7. Please check our web for uniforms policies!  Please click the button below to read the uniform policy on the SMS website. You can come to the Office to ask to see the gently used uniforms in our uniform closet.

We have a lot of clothes in the uniform closet including many winter coats. We invite all our parents to come check out what we have before we donate these items. Please stop in before Easter Break to take a look and see if your child can use any of these gently used items. We would like to thank Alana Teran (mom of Siena (K)) and Veronica Angulo Diaz (mom of Emma (K) and Vivian (Preschool)) for their hard work in organizing the uniform closet.

SMS is always in need of volunteers for Lunch Recess Duty, to volunteer as Homeroom parents and for HSA events, and as chaperones on Field Trips. We would like every member of our community to have the opportunity to volunteer and get more involved at SMS.

In order to do so, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia requires that all volunteers obtain the following clearances and training certificates:

1. Safe Environment Training (in person or on Zoom)
2. Mandated Reporter Training (video training)
3. PA Criminal Background Check
4. PA Child Abuse Clearance Check
5. EITHER a Signed Volunteer Disclosure Statement (if you have lived in PA for 10 or more CONTINUOUS years) OR FBI Fingerprinting (if you have NOT lived in PA for 10 or more CONTINUOUS years).

Please check out the links below to begin the process of obtaining these clearances and trainings. All paperwork should be handed in to Mrs. D at the Office. If you have any question or require assistance, please email sseal@smsnarberth.org and hsa@smsnarberth.org.

TO ALL SMS FAMILIES:

I am very excited to announce that registration for our Vacation Bible School (VBS) is officially open! We have an Alaskan theme this year, where Jesus serves as our True North and guide to Heaven! It will be filled with fun! We will have games, stories, crafts, music, and more for the children! VBS will be from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on June 23-27, in the St. Margaret’s School. Children from the ages of 4-10 are welcome into the program, and children a little older (11+) are welcome to serve as junior counselors. Being a junior counselor is especially welcome for children going into the 7th Grade in the Fall, as they must serve community service hours to receive Confirmation.

Please out the registration form and turn it in to me ASAP! Registration is capped at 75 children, and it is on a first come first serve basis. The fee is $65 per child for campers, and a discounted $25 per child for junior counselors.

Additionally, we are still in need of adult volunteers to help out with the program! If you are a parent who would like to help out with the program, even if it is just for one day, please reach out to me here at prep@saintmarg.org. Registration closes May 1st or whenever the last slot is filled. Please send completed registration forms to me at the St. Margaret’s Rectory.

God bless you all, and I look forward to going on this Alaskan adventure with you! Peace!
